The year is 2060. A new minister, Lucy Macnair, is announced, after all the late horrifying events.As she takes control of the magical government in Britain, several changes begin. The latest peaceful years are over and a new dark era rises.
Term begins again at Potter's University. During the Christmas break all the staff have been given the choice - conform or leave. The new regime is here, compulsory dueling, the dark arts.
Forced out by Lucy's men, Jane Potter, Sigma and Theta Vector have fled the country - knowing their lives would be in danger otherwise. At home, and across Europe they have been identified to the public as dangerous, and it is claimed they attacked aurors when they tried to question them about the deaths.
Ignan Storm takes charge of the University, greeting in the new students with some new and rather untrustworthy looking staff. The students greet things with a mixture of interests. Some are happy, others less so, and the animosity is growing, particularly over the dueling. Two staff in particular, Esther Rosewater and Meredith Vance, are not happy, and make plans to rebel.
In late January, the word about the cooking club has got round the students far enough to recruit, and the first meeting is held in the Potions laboratory. Meanwhile, the Daily Prophet is broadcasting propaganda about the Macnair government, and spies of the spirit kind are afoot.
On the last day of January, Ignan Storm holds an invitation only party in honour of Lucy at the University, and invites his favoured students. Here, there is an unexpected but greatly welcomed pledge of support from the vampires to Lucy Macnair.
Johann Storm, arrested for the murders is released from Azkaban by no other than the minister herself. Several days since the escape, (5th February) and his release from Azkaban, Johann leaves St Mungo's hospital and vows to hunt down Jane Potter for Lucy.
At the same time, Benjamin Moon (Jane's supporter and keeper) meets the three musketeers and brings news. They have to disappear again.
A few days later, they prepare everything to leave and disappear again. However, Johann Storm discovers them first. Everyone escapes except Jane, whose life is spared by direct order from Lucy.
What is going to happen next? Which side will you choose? The New Order? Or the Rebels?
