OKAY, SO GIVE US THE BASICS !
"ER, HELLO THERE. I AM MADISON AMBROSIA CAULDWELL BUT YOU CAN JUST CALL ME MADISON OR MADDIE . I HAVE BEEN WREAKING HAVOC FOR FIFTEEN YEARS AND I DON'T REALLY PLAN ON STOPPING SOON. I GRACED THIS WORLD WITH MY PRESENCE ON NOVEMBER THIRTIETH, 1960. I BRANDISH A MAHOGANY, 12 ¾ INCHES, KELPIE MANE HAIR CORE WAND, I KNOW YOU ARE JEALOUS. I AM IN THE HOUSE OF RAVENCLAW, FIFTH YEAR, AND DAMN PROUD. I WAS BORN WITH PURE BLOOD, NOT THAT IT REALLY MATTERS. SO YEAH, ARE WE DONE?"
SORRY, NOT QUITE. SO WHAT ARE AND AREN'T YOU INTO ?
"I’m into fashion, when I’m not in uniform. I love having fun with clothing, choosing my own styles, seeing what works and what doesn’t. I love to have fun. I’ve been known to get a little out of hand at times, but isn’t that what being a teenager is all about? Having fun! I want to find adventure! I do love to read, and I actually enjoy school. But along with that, I have street smarts. I know what my limits are, I know what’s worth a little risk and what is better left alone. That’s what separates me from a lot of people, I think. Knowing what my own limitations are.
Aside from fashion and school, I’m pretty much just into friends and Quidditch. Hanging around in the grass outside or playing a quick game of Quidditch or jumping into the lake with my clothes on, as long as I’m with some fun people, almost anything is worth doing. My family has a lot of money, which means that the price of a hobby or desire usually doesn’t factor in a whole lot. I don’t think I should be faulted for my family being affluent, though. It isn’t like it’s my fault, and I’m always willing to pay for a friend if they don’t have enough money! I’m very athletic, and very competitive. I’ll do whatever it takes to be the best and help my team win.
As for my dislikes… well, I guess there’s always too much of one thing. I hate having to study for hours at a time. I also hate having to be social for too many hours at one time, or practice Quidditch for too many hours at one time. Everything in moderation, my mum would always say. What else… Losing. I’m super-competitive, and I don’t take failure well. It’s why I do so well at school, and sports, and, well, anything I put my mind to. I don’t like being told what to do. Telling me I can’t do something is usually a sure sign that I’ll find a way to do it at some point. I can be stubborn when I know I’m right, though willing to admit when I’m wrong.”
HOW ER... INTERESTING. EVER LOOKED INTO THE MIRROR OF ERISED ?
"I have no idea what I really want from life. When I look into the mirror now, it’s just a blur. If it had to be one thing, I suppose it would be married, maybe with a child or two, and designing, or something? I don’t know, I’m only 15 after all!”
WHAT MAKES YOU SHAKE IN YOUR BOOTS ?
”I’m afraid of bad things happening that are out of my control. The idea of me not being able to intervene if something was wrong… *shudder*. I’m also afraid of ignorance. I like to know things, and the idea of looking stupid in front of anyone terrifies me. My biggest fear would have to be being alone. I love being surrounded by people, I love having friends… too much alone time will drive me insane. If people didn’t like me, I don’t know what I’d do!"
EVEN YOU HAVE TO HAVE SOME GOOD QUALITIES, RIGHT ?
"I’m very intelligent. I love to read and I find a lot of the classes I’m taking fascinating, and so I don’t mind putting lots of work into learning new spells or perfecting potions. I’m also very competitive, which can be a positive thing since it makes me strive to be the best I can be! I think people underestimate me a lot because of my looks, and that is sometimes nice because it lets me surprise them when I’m good at school and sports. Also, I’m not shallow, which is a huge plus in my book."
AND IT'S QUITE OBVIOUS YOU HAVE YOUR BAD, HUH ?
"Well, doesn’t everyone have a few bad qualities? Sometimes I show off a little too much, I suppose. And being competitive also means that sometimes I can get a little… intense… about certain things."
LET'S GET DIRTY. WHAT TURNS YOU ON ?
"I love someone who isn’t afraid to make a fool of themselves if they’re having fun. After all, what good is life if you can’t let loose every once and a while? A turn off for me would be someone who was unwilling to accept people who were different from them. Close-minded people really aren’t for me."
DO YOU LOVE YOUR FAMILY ?
"My parents, Jonathan and Blaire, are great. They’re always willing to support me no matter what I decide to do, and lend me money when I need it for things like a new broom, or quills, or whatever I may need. I don’t know where I would be without them! I also have two younger siblings, a sister who is a third year Hufflepuff and a brother who is a fourth year Hufflepuff. I was really excited that they got sorted into such a great house! I mean, yeah, I wish they had been in Ravenclaw with me, but Hufflepuff is pretty great too, and it fits them well. We meet up with my cousins and aunts and uncles on various occasions, but we aren’t very close. Sometimes I feel like I don’t have as much in common with them, they’re all about making money and keeping money and marrying into money and blah blah blah… I’m not into all of that. I’ll do whatever ends up happening in my life. If I like someone with no money, so what?! Oh dear, sorry, I’m ranting now. Talking about family can do that, I suppose. "
WHERE YA FROM, BY THE WAY ?
"I’m from Cumbria, a shire county in the North West of England. It’s a great area, so beautiful with many mountains and valleys, and it’s even historical – parts of Hadrian’s Wall are there, up by Carlisle. I love taking trips to the Lake District National Park, which is just stunning. Nothing can compare!"
THE DEMENTORS ARE HERE. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF ?
"I made fun of one of my friends back home, and they didn’t talk to me for an entire week. Being ignored and hated like that, it was the worst feeling ever, and that abandonment by someone I cared about hurt so much..."
BETTER GET UP A PATRONUS. WHAT ARE YOU REMEMBERING ?
"Finding out that I was going to Hogwarts, just like my parents had! I mean, we all knew that the day was going to come, but actually getting the letter and coming here and being placed in Ravenclaw, well, it was great!"

((I just stole this from an old RP site… hope you don’t mind! Y’all know I can write. :-p))
Erica looked around the Common Room, searching for a familiar face. She found several of them, many from her year and a few others, but each of them was surrounded by a group of friends. Listening in on their conversations from her seat by the fire it didn’t take long to learn that they were all catching up on what the others did over the summer holiday. She smiled a little to herself until one of the chattering students, a 3rd year girl, noticed her listening and gave her an odd look. Erica quickly turned her eyes back down to the sentence she’d been reading in her book. If only she were as confident and charming, personality wise of course, as Dorian Grey… imagine what he’d say to her here, not even able to join in on a conversation with a bunch of fourth years! Still, it was their conversation, and she didn’t want to interrupt or intrude. They were older than her, after all.
It took her several tries to finish that particular sentence because several loose strands of her layered, chocolate brown hair kept falling infront of her russet hued eyes, obscuring her vision. A few more sentences down she found herself unable to concentrate on her book. This was a rare thing for her, but she knew that she’d made a promise to herself to be more sociable. That certainly wasn’t the case now as she was sitting alone by the fire, legs curled up underneath her while she read a book written ages ago, a Muggle book that half the students here hadn’t even heard of. So what could she do? Every time she had the idea of talking to one of the other students she always felt out of the loop, and she didn’t want to disrupt their already-in-progress conversations. She found the idea of a 12 year old girl unable to start a conversation a very absurd idea, but here she was just the same, pondering the best way to make some new friends. Sure, she’d made a few friends last year, but she wanted to make more this year. She couldn’t go out with people still calling her ‘that quiet girl’ all the time! She was Erica Nightshade, and she was determined to make a name for herself.
Putting the bookmark in the crease of the page she was on, Erica closed the book and looked around the room once more. She spotted a few sixth year girls just across the room talking about the upcoming Quidditch season. Erica had just begun to play Quidditch herself over the summer, but didn’t’ think she was good enough for her House team or anything. Either way, at least she knew enough about it to join in on such a common topic. She’d read several books on it, even though she hadn’t sat down and watched a school Quidditch match since early last year. As she got up from the armchair, though, she discovered a moment too late that the leg that had been curled up underneath her had gone numb. With one very ungraceful movement Erica wobbled a bit on the unfeeling leg before having it collapse under her, causing her to fall to the floor with a soft thud.
Even though only a few select groups nearby noticed her, as most of the Common Room was too wrapped up in their personal conversations to have noticed her quick descent, it felt as if all eyes had turned on her. Erica’s face blushed a deep crimson as she quickly got up, burying her face back in her book as she made a hasty retreat up to the second year dorms. Perhaps tomorrow would be a better day to start her new social life.
