Here is a quick rundown of Allison: She's a 4th year Slytherin who is just becoming comfortable with her truly Slytherin-attributed qualities, some of which she had been denying for a little bit. She comes from a family of Hufflepuffs, and was confused as to why she ended up here. Even embarrassed at first, since her family seemed ashamed of her.
More recently she had grown fond of reading up on the Dark Arts. She is listening to the chatter around her common room and beginning to understand the logic of magical people being superior to muggles. Of purebloods (which she is) being superior to those with mixed (more commonly referred to as tainted) blood. She loves knowing things, and reading is a big part of her life. She discovered some books on the Dark Arts, and can't believe that people were trying to hide such a wealth of information from her! She gets a thrill out of knowing the things she is reading about and teaching herself is something that not many other people know.
This year she's going out for the spot of Seeker on the Quidditch team. She's going to try and make more friends, reach out, and really make an impact on the people in her house, no matter what that may take. She has been pretty soft-spoken in the past, so she's not likely to have many enemies yet, though dislike may be common. Since she has tried hard to fit in with the Slytherins she has probably shunned or been mean to people from other houses, just to stay in the good graces of the other Slytherins.
